Production Welder

Cross Country is a leading Canadian manufacturer in the aggregate and transportation industry. We are currently seeking full-time Welders and Weld Fitters to join our team.

These positions require the ability to MIG weld steel and/or aluminum parts and subassemblies together. Welders use a combination of following blueprints, precise measuring, fitting, tacking and welding various parts in different positions to create an end product that is engineered to withstand the element of a heavy industrial environment.

Skill Sets and Requirements:
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
• Be self-motivated and willing to learn
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good knowledge of blueprints/able to read blueprints
• Precision with measuring tapes and knowledge of fractions
• Able to work as part of a team or individually
• General knowledge of set up and operation of power tools common to the welding trade
• Fitting experience an asset(parts fitting and tacking)
• Able to use hand plasma and oxy/acetylene torch

Painter – Days (7:00am – 3:30pm)

The Painter is responsible for ensuring a quality finish on Cross Country trailers. This role confirms that trailers are properly prepared prior to industrial paint application and monitors the drying process to achieve desired results. The Painter is responsible for cleaning and maintaining painting equipment and ensuring safety protocols are followed throughout the process.

Education & Experience:
• Knowledge and previous experience of industrial paint application and asset
• 1+ years of relevant experience preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting an asset

Assembly Skill Sets & Requirements:
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be legally able to work in Canada
• Self-motivated and willing to learn
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be physically fit to stand for 8 hours minimum daily
• Must be physically fit to lift at least 50 lbs
• High attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination
• Able to operate basic hand tools
• Must be able to read/write/speak English
• Knowledge of fractions, and decimals and ability to read a measuring tape
• Safety orientated, must comply with all PPE requirements
• Prior experience is an asset but we are willing to train the right person.

Trailer Parts and Warranty Coordinator

The Trailer Parts & Warranty Coordinator communicates with customers and dealers to address warranty concerns, determine validity of claims, and provide prompt and courteous customer service. This role is responsible for ensuring replacement, after-market, and stock parts are ordered as warranted and promptly delivered to the customer.

Education and Experience:
• 2+ years of similar experience preferred
• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
• Post-secondary education in a business-related discipline an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
• Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to manage change and stress
• Ability to manage priorities, meet tight deadlines, and ensure follow-up
• Ability to work in a quality and results-driven environment
• Ability to discern urgent and non-urgent situations and use professional judgement
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a customer-focused rapport in all interactions with customers and dealers.
• Respond to calls and e-mails from dealers pertaining to warranty claims.
• Communicate with dealers to validity of warranty claims according to CCM policies.
• Manage all parts recalls working with the VP of Sales to ensure notices are concisely worded and distributed.
• Work with logistics and freight/Administrative Assistant to ensure prompt delivery of parts.
• Communicate with accounting department to ensure credits are distributed for warranty claims and parts are invoiced as required.
• Work with component manufacturers to understand and implement their policies and procedures on warrantable failures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
